Mt. Kendall -hike and exstream ski

We hiked and skinned up to Kendall. The backside is nice and steep and there is two main colouirs to ski down. We were too lazy to climb back up so we started walking out the Gold Creek drainage. There are some other colouirs back there that we must return and ski. So about 12 miles later we made it back to Hyak, in the dark. I guess we are going to get in shape fast with tours like this.

Alpine trekkers, wow they work great the steep traverses.

The point.

Mission Leader drops in.

Team in formation.

vroom swoosh.

Wow, that was great. Lets hike through the forest until it gets dark.

The exstream skiing begins.

The first few stream crossings were a litte scary.

23 River crossings later, we displayed the highest level of exstream progression.

Back to Hyak at last. Next time we are climbing back up the colouir.

Whistler 12/16/06

Whistler Long weekend before X-mas

We caught a nice window of sun and early season snow. A little bit of good snow. We are remembering how to ski again and having a good time with the apres at Whistler.

Jesse is looking for trouble.

Team #1 Jesse, the Beav., me, Mays, Dickerson.

We didn't take too many pictures of actual skiing, mostly just the tourist shots. Jesse and the Beaver took off back to Stevens Pass or some place in WA. We skied another day and ran into some other friends from HWS.

Team #2 Mark H., Jess, Island, Mays, Me, Dickerson.

Last run of the day on Sunday we got off our lazy a*#'s and hiked a little on blackcomb. Some guys was trying to para-ski-sail-chute whatever down the mountain.

Team #2 Hike paid off. Last run of the day was the best of the weekend.

Monday

Whistler- Early Season Pow Dec. 06

The weather report lined up. Teague and I had to excercise our new 9/80's work schedule plus an extra day, because we are sick.

Day 1- Deep Powder. We didn't even know what to do with all the snow and our early season skiing ability, or lack there of. It was so fun to ride deep pow in the low light again, NW style tree skiing.

Teague P. bob'n out for a gasp of air.

We didn't have a place to stay but we ran into our friend Mark. Mark runs a travel ageny/ mob down in south america. Mark found a place for us in one of his apartments and then had the suburban limo pick us up for a house party. Thanks Mark.

Still snowing

Day two- more powder, more. Low vis. so we stuck to the trees all day. It worked out fine.

Teague Slash'n through the forest.

Enough snow to give the broken old guy a little bit of courage.

We found Tobin at the end of the day in the parking lot. His car was stuck. We used the shovels in our backpacks to dig him out. Hopefully that is the only time this ever happens. Lots-o-snow.
