Las Lenas 2006- The short trip.

I made it down to Las Lenas for a quick 3 week trip this year. After missing most of the 05/06 season due to injury this trip was a must do. I have had some touring days this spring/summer, but this was really the test for my body. I had a great time skiing one of (if not) the coolest places to ski in the world. I was able to meet up with friends from the previous year, and I met some cool people from Whistler and SLC.

Driving into the Andes from Santiago Chile. Can you say switchback.

Portillo Chile

After a short 36hrs of traveling I am finally back to the Gringo Ghetto. Aaat Lassst.

In between fancy steak dinners at the Brasero we made pasta and drank a lot of malbec.

Hey Lenny!

Might I remind you can get to this from a lift.

up

down

You might ask, hu, how did Tobin get into that chute. He might say, hu, I down climbed some rock, side slipped 50 degree cookies and cream, skied some pow turns and dropped a bunch of little airs over exposure.

its me saying weeeeeeee.

It's really tough when you finish skiing any line on the south wall and then you have to mock through a low angle pow field to get back to the lift.

The view from below.

The view looking down to the valley floor.

And the view looking out at all the other stuff we can go ski.

I paid for a flight back over the andes to santiago. it was totally worth the views.

Ciao.
